VISION
Bethany Baptist Church exists to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered and serving.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that the Bible, including both the Old and the New Testaments, is a divine revelation, inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe in one God, creator of all things, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His substitutionary death on a cross, His bodily resurrection and His imminent return. We believe that all are sinners by nature but that Jesus died for our sins and declares righteous all who believe in Him. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers. We believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived – those who believe in Him into eternal life in Heaven, and those who reject His Son into everlasting punishment.
OUR PASTOR
Jody Harless is our pastor, and we are so thankful that God has brought him and his family – wife, Jessica; children, Brody and Baylee – to Bethany.
Jody formerly served as a Deacon and Youth Leader at Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist Church in Harts, WV; as Pastor of the Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church in Charleston, WV; and most recently as Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Osteen in Osteen, Florida.
He was a teacher in Logan County for nearly 14 years and currently teaches Middle School Bible and Middle School Church History at Cross Lanes Christian School.
Jody is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, with a Master of Arts in Divinity (Ministry and Leadership), Christian Ministry and Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.
MISSIONS
We are passionate about taking the Gospel into our community and also globally. God has allowed us to use the gifts and resources He provides to share Jesus around the world.
