Senior Pastor: Timothy Campbell
I was saved at the age of 5 after a Sunday school class at Foot of Ten Bible Church. After the Sunday school class I came under conviction for my sin. I felt the guilt of being the reason that Jesus was crucified. I believed that He rose again and that He would forgive me if I confessed. I was bothered all that day, until I called out on Him to save me. I was praying when my mom came into my room and asked me what I was doing. I explained and she reassured me of His forgiveness. The burden was lifted and I still rejoice and will always rejoice for God’s redeeming grace.
I received my call into the ministry at the age of 19. My pastor encouraged me to pursue my calling by getting a Bible Education. The Lord led me to Appalachian Bible College where I received a BA in Bible and Theology with a minor in Pastoral Greek. I also met my wife at ABC in my sophomore year. She is a great support to my ministry and to me personally. God knew what I needed by bringing Ami into my life. I began the pastorate at Bethany Baptist Church in September 1, 2003. I was ordained in Oct 26, 2006. Every day I am inspired by the love of the congregation. They are very supportive and patient as I develop as a pastor. Each day I am learning more about the ministry and the immense grace and longsuffering of God. My prayer is that I will be found faithful to my calling and one day hear the words well done from my Lord.

I made a profession of faith when I was 4, but as I grew in age I realized that I did not remember the experience. I had no memory of confessing with my mouth that Jesus Christ was Lord. I couldn’t continue not knowing whether or not I was child of God. I made reassurance of my salvation when I was 10 in my bedroom with my mom and dad. That is the day I remember the joy of being secure in Christ. I was baptized in a cold mountain stream outside of Abingdon, VA.
I grew up a pastor and missionary’s child. My family traveled the United States as missionaries to the American Family. Being saturated in ministry from childhood, I was ready for a break when I moved away from home, and I left many of the good teachings of my parents behind me. Emily, who I’ve known since childhood, and I were married in 2004. God began got a hold of my life when my son, Logan, was born. I realized that I was viewing this life as if this was all I had. My lack of desire for heavenly things was setting a poor example for my wife and son. Pastor Tim saw this change and immediately began to facilitate ministry opportunities for me, and encouraged me to begin Bible College. I began working with the teens in the summer of 2010, and received my call to teen ministries in the spring of 2011. I’m currently working on a degree in Apologetics and Worldview from Baptist Bible College and Seminary. With each passing day, I’m reminded more about our God’s faithfulness, and though we run from Him, He is always willing and waiting to take us back. I’m ready to spend the rest of my life serving Him so long as He tarries.
